Courses for beginners and advanced students

Beginner's course 5 days:

We work in the "Tiffany" style which means we use copper foil instead of lead came. You will learn to cut glass, grozing, grinding, foiling and soldering. On request we can give you lessons in simple maths and geometry and some carpentry such as a frame or stand to finish your creation.
The 5th day you might be able to make a small window or other item in stained glass to take as a souvenir  with you.
We commence at 10.00 am until 13.00 pm, a simple lunch will be served at 13.30, we resume at 15.00 until 17.00 pm. On request other schedules are possible. You may like to combine a course with trekking, painting, photography or other activities offered by our friends in the Alpujarra. Contact us for details.

We also offer an introductory course of 1 day which is 1 hour longer than a normal course where you will be introduced to all the necessary techniques and tools in order to create a simple piece in stained glass.
Introductory fee: €75.00 including lunch and non alcoholic beverages.

Please note: the maximum of students per day is 4, as it is necessary for us to devote a lot of attention to ensure that the processes involved are learned correctly.

Where are we:

We are located in Las Canteras, near Ugijar in the province of Granada, in the famous "Alpujarra". Las Canteras is a very small village, a hamlet, located in a valley. A mountain road will bring you to us. It is described in the Granada tour guide as an "oasis" in the desert! 2 rivers are below Las Canteras, there is a lot of history which goes back to the Romans, Greeks and the Moors. The locals are still using their "mulas"or donkeys for working the land. Life is still simple and peaceful, a great environment to learn stained glass! With beautiful nature, which will inspire your designs!
There are no facilities in Las Canteras but nearby Ugijar has hostels, shops, restaurants and bars. ( 15 min. by car)

It is possible to combine a course in Stained Glass with a trekking holiday, horse riding, bike riding, ski-ing and snow-boarding, mountain climbing, Yoga etc. For more information contact  us at  www.inshalahstainedglass@gmail.com
